I played in a Rock band during my college years. For most of those years, I had little use or interest for electronic music. In the mid 90's something shifted. I found myself spending long hours in New York clubs like Twilo, The Tunnel, Palladium, listening to DJs like Junior Vasquez, Carl Cox, Roni Size, Jeff Mills. (Especially Junior!) My ears changed forever. The way I heard sound changed forever. I remember coming out of those clubs at 6:30am. I remember the sound of the seagulls and the cars and the people and the trains—everything was music. When I got around to making my own electronic based music, it sounded different than all that club music, but always those sounds and textures were echoing somewhere in my memory. This collection of music chronologically spans the years 2002 to 2012. Respect and gratitude to all those artists and DJs that made me dance and changed my ears. ~ Todd Amodeo, March 25, 2014
